Many will have been following the developments in the ‘Denny Solomona’ case, touted as potentially as significant to Rugby League and Union as the ‘Bosman ruling’ was to Football. The key difference of course being that Solomona’s contract with Castleford Tigers had not expired but rather had 2 years remaining when he elected to join Sale Sharks. It has recently been announced that the parties have reached settlement, with Castleford Tigers accepting a figure understood to be in excess of £200,000.00 together with a substantial contribution to their costs expected to be in the region of £100,000.00.
