Intellectual Property (Unjustified Threats) Bill published

The Law Commission’s bill, published on 19 May 2016, proposes changes which will create an IP environment which favours negotiation and settlement over litigation.

It follows the Law Commission’s Report in 2014 (Law Com No. 346) which recommended substantive amendments to the existing statutory framework,‚Äč so as to create a more consistent approach to so-called ‘groundless threats’ across patent, trade mark and design right infringements.
